Ironwood Township Volunteer Fire Department

Ironwood Township FD2 - CopyThe Ironwood Township Fire Department exists to prevent fires, to safeguard the lives and property of all people in this township and to inspect and eliminate fire hazards. This department makes every effort to comply with state laws governing operations and functions of a volunteer on-call fire department.

Ironwood Township consists of roughly188.93 square miles (489.33 km2), of which 175.40 square miles is land and 13.53 square miles (7.10%) is water.

Our main station is located at the Ironwood Township hall on the corner of Lake Rd and Sunset Rd - N10892 Lake Rd, Ironwood, MI  49938.

Some of our members participate on multiple volunteer Fire Departments.  Our current Fire Chief is Robert Brentar.  He can be reached at (906)932-6012.

Our volunteers continue to train to use equipment and learn new techniques for fighting fires.
